Red light therapy, also known as photobiomodulation (PBM), utilizes specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared (NIR) light to penetrate tissue and stimulate cellular function. This process enhances ATP synthesis, supporting cellular repair, reducing inflammation, and promoting overall recovery. By influencing mitochondrial function and cellular signaling pathways, PBM is increasingly recognized in fields such as dermatology, pain management, sports medicine, and neurological health.

Research suggests that red and NIR light therapy may be beneficial for a range of conditions, including:
- Chronic pain and inflammation – Helps manage conditions such as arthritis, joint pain, and muscle soreness
- Skin conditions – Supports wound healing, reduces acne inflammation, and promotes collagen synthesis for anti-aging effects
- Neurological health – Shows potential in aiding cognitive function and mitigating symptoms of neurodegenerative conditions
- Sports recovery and injury rehabilitation – Enhances muscle recovery, reduces delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), and supports tissue repair
- Circulatory issues – Improves blood flow, aiding conditions related to poor circulation and vascular health
- Post-surgical healing – Accelerates recovery by reducing swelling and tissue damage

The light can be set up so patients have the option of laying down with the red light above them or standing/siting/stretching in front of it.
Red light therapy can be applied as a standalone modality or integrated with acupuncture/bodywork appointments.
